Woodincity Project

The City of Verona, in the Project of the of the Adige River Park, put an uncultivated land at disposal of the Primary Schools G. Solinas and G. Uberti.

The goals of the Project, realized by the WBA onlus, are to plant autochtonous arboreous and shrubby species with the purpose to obtain a mixed and disetaneous vegetal population, with an elevated degree of stability.

The mixed wood, in fact, uses the bio-space in the best way; the leafages, well laid out on different floors, warrant the maximum protection of the ground; the roots explore the ground at different depht and can fully exploit its fertility.

Also the properties of the humus improve for the greatest activity of pedofauna and pedoflora. The elevated biodiversity also permits the maximum resistance to the adverse biotic (bugs, mushrooms, etc.) and abiotics (wind, aridity, etc.) factors. The final objective is to get a population in dynamic equilibrium with the environmental factors, able to renew itself autonomously.
